Welcome to the Cisco Weekly Update
- Issue #3; 1 May 2008

This week's channel alert highlights Westcon Group's customer service initiative and our commitment to providing second to none customer service to our partners. Also included is a sneak preview of what's coming up for Westcon and Cisco including the launch of our first UC500 focused Video on Demand, as well as the launch of Cisco's Turbo Challenge promotion.

Westcon Group to Launch ‘Customer First' Initiative  ::

At Westcon Group, we have long been committed to providing Cisco customers with the best possible client service infrastructure. In line with that commitment, in June 2008, we will be launching the Customer First initiative, which sees numerous major changes made to the Westcon Group's client service business unit. Key among those changes is the 150 per cent increase in personnel dedicated to the management of relationships between our Cisco customers and Westcon Group.

While the increase in staff members is set to make a major difference, there is a strong emphasis on ensuring front-line client services personnel have the necessary Cisco skills to ensure the customer's first point of contact with Westcon Group is effective and professional. Heading the team is National Customer Service Manager Troy Hickey. “We're providing ongoing training for our staff so they can deal directly and in an informed manner with our customers,” he says. “Essentially, it's about having someone on the line who can deal with queries without having to ‘pass the buck'.”

The objective of the presentation was to articulate the value proposition of Cisco and its SMB strategy as well as Westcon Group's value proposition and the focus on providing value to our channel and supporting resellers in the SMB space.

Nathan's proud moment was clinched from key competitors in a presentation to Cisco executives at the Cisco offices in Sydney earlier this week. Congratulations Nathan!
