Welcome to the Cisco Weekly Update - Issue #2; 23 April 2008
This week we'd like to focus on providing you with a profile on the Westcon Group company, our recent name change, what it's like to work at Westcon Group and some general facts about our company.
We have also included some key highlights for the week. So we hope you enjoy!
What do you know about Westcon Group? ::
Westcon Group Australia (previously known as LAN Systems) has been in operation since 1990 and acquired by the Westcon Group 2000.
In March 2008, LAN Systems adopted the trading name of Westcon Group, allowing us to unlock massive growth potential for our business and leverage the global systems, processes, marketing and partner programs that represent best practice around the world.
With the changeover to the Westcon Group we are now able to leverage from these under the Westcon Group brand.
One of the great things about working at Westcon Group is the employee Wellness Program - Westcon Group funds group fitness/training sessions as well as sponsoring key corporate sports events such as the BRW, JP Morgan, and City to Surf.
Only last weekend (Sunday April 13 2008) several intrepid Westconers braved the chilly air and darkness to join the excitement of the 2008 BRW/BP Ultimate Corporate Triathlon achieving some great results.

Nathan Godsall joined Westcon Group in 1993 and his role has evolved to that of Westcon Group's Business Development Manager, Cisco SMB. In this critical role he is regarded as a critical link between Cisco, Westcon and the channel community, conducting seminars, training sessions and one on one consultations.
One of Westcon Group's key pre-sales team members for Cisco, Nabil Yaghi, has great pleasure in announcing the birth of his son Omar Yaghi last week. Congratulations to Nabil!
2008 ARN IT INDUSTRY AWARDS - September 18, 2008 ::
The ARN IT Industry awards gives our industry the opportunity to applaud IT organisations and professionals for their excellent work and outstanding results. The 2008 awards being held in September will include a Green theme in line with ARN's commitment to identifying and improving the IT industry's impact on the environment.
